I just found out that MoveOn.org was asking for nominations on what its goals should be for 2009. I registered as a user, but for whatever reason cannot browse to the page that will allow me to nominate a goal. As can be expected, liberals put up all sorts of stupid leftist platitudes like peace on Earth and social justice. Give me a break. If you have a big mailing list or otherwise reach, can you please ask for help on my behalf to nominate:
MAXIMIZE TAXES ON THE RICH More tax brackets at the higher end (three or four more brackets) Dramatically higher marginal rates at the highest brackets - up to Eisenhower Era 90% Dramatically higher short-term capital gains tax - tax in inverse proportion to length of time asset held French-style one-, two-, or three-time asset tax (up to 20% total) on persons or trusts with net worth over $10 million - it is actually a slight modification of Donald Trump’s idea, but I like the idea of calling it “French style” since conservatives hate France so much It’s gonna suck to be rich in America again. It has to, or we all suffer.
Since, of course, MoveOn.org missed the central issue in the entire political divide - taxation - there are no categories that cover this idea, so please ask your readers to nominate the CNBC Sucks Tax Plan under “Other”. I was going to add a special fuckhead tax for Larry Kudlow, but MoveOn.org might reject the entire Plan as inappropriate.
Liberals just keep missing the boat. All our dreams are waiting in the piggy bank called the wealthy people of the USA. There would be no wars EVER if you actually made the rich pay for those wars, and I don’t mean on credit. And you will not have health care or clean energy without higher taxes on the rich. Our ability to borrow is on its last legs, and the middle class and poor have no more money to be taxed. It is time to crack open the piggy bank that all Americans have been putting their savings in for 28 years.
I am serious about this request. Please ask your readers to lobby MoveOn.org to take up taxation on the wealthy as one its goals in 2009. It is absolutely critical for the wealthy to be taxed (much) more or Obama fails and we all die in a few years by eating each other.
